Christmas in English speaking countries

Hello everybody,

Today we were talking about Christmas in English speaking countries at school. Let me tell you what I have leard.
They celebrate Christmas on 25th December in memorial of Jesus Christ birthday. In the United States many people decorate their houses with christmastrees and garden lights. They cook a dinner for family and friends and give each other gifts. Parents tell their children that Santa Claus brings them their presents. Some schools and churches organize special events. At this time of year all school etc. are closed.

Christmas Eve: People celebrate it in the evening of 24th December. They take dinners with their familys. In some cultures they exchange presents and have Christmas trees, mistletoes and other decorations up.

Christmas Day: Some things people do are exchanging presents, singing Christmas songs and going to parties. A special moment for the kids is when they get the presents from Santa Claus.

Boxing Day: In Great Britain this is usually the day where servants and tradesman reveice their presents known as Christmas Box.

I personally do not celebrate Christmas because of my religion. But i analyzed it myself and I came to the conclusion that it wouldn`t be something I`d like to celebrate anyways.

Thank you for reading my entry.

Guy Fawkes Day

Hello everybody,

Today we were talking about Guy Fawkes Day at School, let me tell you something about it. Many young, brithish people celebrate on November 5th, but I think they don’t really care why they are celebrating Guy Fawkes Day, the most important things for them are bonfires, fireworks and parties. But the main theme about that Day is the unsuccessful plot to blow up the King and the Parliament in 1605. Young Britains make figures out of rags and display them in streets. That way passers-by can see the figures and give the children money if they want to.

My new school

I have been attending the Business College in Perg for 4 weeks now. Let me tell you something about it.
I usually get up at 7:30 in the morning. I don't have to wake up earlier because I am getting ready pretty fast. Sometimes when I am too lazy to do myself a lunch, I am buying something from the cafetaria. Every Monday in the 5th lesson we have got Information and Office Managament. It is one of the lessons I never had before, so I am really excited to learn more about it and to practice the things I learned. Our class form representative is Felix. I think he will do great, because he is conscious of his task. My favourite subjects right now are physical education and Russian. Physical education because I like every kind of sports and Russian because I like that I can learn a completely new and interresting language. As you can see, I am impressed of this school and I hope to get throw it without repeating a year!
