Recent US elections

Hello everybody!

Today I would like to write about the recent elections in the USA.

As some of you may know, Mr. Donald Trump won the election, what is really shocking for many citizens.

Let us analyse the reasons why so many people voted for the republican. One reason, for example is, that they think he wouldn’t care about someone breaking the rules and maybe the population of the United States believes that they would have more liberties because of that fact. Trump promises that he will eliminate ISIS. As curious as it sounds the population may think it is a good idea to vote for Trump. He also made the pledge of putting the economy back where it belongs.

My personal thoughts about this issue are the following. I am not qualified to give you exact information about this topic because I did not engage that much in it. But from the minority of the facts I know, I think Hilarie Clinton would have been the better choice because she seems to be really interested in doing the best thing for her country and she is aware of the big responsibility  a president has.

English in Action

Hello everybody!

I haven’t been writing a blog entry for a pretty long time because there was nothing interesting to write about. But now there is something that you may find gripping. Last week I participated in a project called “English in Action“.

First of all I’d like to tell you what it is and why I was tempted to be part of this project. “English in Action” is a one-week  English course in school, which is offered by native speakers from England. What the teachers basically try to reach, is using your knowledge practically and improving skills.

The second thing I would like to write about, is how the week was and which activities we did. We had a little book with many tasks, which was our main material. Every day our first four lessons consisted of filling in blank spaces in the book and accomplishing tasks. The last two hours were held by our main teacher, who was called Rory. There we worked on our business plans, which we had to present in front of the whole class and our headmaster on the last day of the project.

My personal opinion on this project is a very good one. I think it was a great experience and it really helped me to improve my English-skills. I would recommend it to every student. Also, if I had the chance, I would participate again in such a project.

Volleyball

This is my entry about Volleyball.

Let’s start with the equipment. You need volleyballshoes, a jersey and kneepads. The volleyballshoes help you increase your vertical and will help you to jump higher. The kneepads will provide you from injuries and the jersey will separate you from the other teams.

You can play Volleyball indoor and outdoor. Indoor you play in a gym and outdoor you play in the sand. That brings me to the positions that exist in volleyball because indoor you have got 6 positions, the ones backfield are the defense players and the one on the right serves, at the front part oft he field there are 1 outsidehitter, a setter and a middlehitter.

So position 1, 5 and 6 are backfield and 2,3 and 4 are in the front part the field.

1 is the one who serves.

-if you are 1 and your team doesn’t make a point you defend the ball.

2 is the setter.

- he or her prepairs or sets the ball for the hitters.

- our setter for example is the captain.

3 is the Middlehitter and blocker.

- this is the tallest one of the team. This person is the main blocker and hits the ball too. But they often cannot defend a ball well.

4 is the outside hitter.

- This person is the main hitter and often the topscorer of the team. He is good at hitting the ball and defending.

5 is one of the defenders. He stands in the backfield left.

6 is another defender.

- He stands in the backfield in the middle.

Some of the rules are:

1.   you are not allowed to touch the net if you are involved in the rally. IF a player  does that the other team will get the point.

2.    You are not allowed to step in the field of the other team during the rally.

So these are basically the main rules.

History of Volleyball:

The history of volleyball started in 1895 when William G. Morgan decided to blend elements of basketball, baseball, tennis, and handball to create a game for his classes of businessmen which would demand less physical contact than basketball. He created Volleyball (at that time called mintonette). Morgan borrowed the net from tennis, and raised it 6 feet 6 inches above the floor, above the average man's head. 

 During a demonstration game, someone remarked to Morgan that the players seemed to be volleying the ball back and forth over the net, and perhaps "volleyball" would be a more descriptive name for the sport.

My personal experience with volleyball:

I started playing Volleyball at school 3 years ago and since 2 years I play in a club.

My favourite club is Hypotirol because I really like the way they play Volleyball. My favourite player is Alexander Tusch because in my opinion he is a really good player and plays for the austrian nationalteam too.

AFS Programm

Hello everybody!

Today we were talking about AFS programm and I wanted to tell you what I learnd about it.
It is a programm where children from other coutries can make an exgance, for example in the USA.
To do this you have to fill in an application and on the application you have to mention all your habits. If you do this, AFS can help you to find the perfect family for you. If you still have problems with your families, the programm will help you either to solve the problems or to be moved into another family.

In the family you'll have to do some chores too, because the hostfamily is expectet to treat you like a familymember. You have to go to school too. There you can improve, for example, the language you have choosen.

Maybe it will take you a litte bit to familiarize with the school and the students, but already after some weeks you'll feel comfortable. You get a certificate with all your subjects. That way you will know when you have to be in which classroom.

Mr. Trump

Yesterday in our englishlesson, we were watching an interview from Mr. Trump.
In the interview with Mr. Donald Trump, one of the canidates for presidency in the USA, tells us about his ideas, if he really was elected president. This is what he says:


 They were talking about Immigration. His plan is to build a wall as a boarder. In the wall, there should be a big, fat and beautiful door. Through this door, People are able to pass the US, but they have to come in legally and only with theis papers. The wall should protect them from crime and drug trade.


My opinion to it:
I don't think the wall is a good idea because the People who want to commit crime can enter the state somewhere else and if they built a wall only on the south, i don't think that would stop the crime there.

Our livingroom

Hello,

today were talking about houses, their furniture and their rooms. Let me tell you about my livingroom.

We have got a big livingroom. We have got wooden furniture. When you enter the room you will see a coutch and a big chair on the right. They are darkred. The walls are white and we have got two Pictures on it. On the left there are two shelfs and a TV. We also have much decoration like candles. Opposite to the door there is another door that leads  you to our balcony. It is not very big but sometimes in summer we take dinner  on the balcony.
That is our livingroom, I hope you enjoyed reading my blog.
